Overview The Ardmore refinery, which gives Valero a strong presence in the Midwest, is highly productive for a facility of its size. Its excess hydrogen capacity and fluid catalytic cracker feed capabilities have established the refinery as a leader in the production of clean-burning fuels, especially in the Oklahoma region. In addition to production and processing, the refinery also has more than 2.4 million barrels of refined product storage.
Output The Ardmore refinery processes medium, sour crude oil from both domestic and foreign sources. Major units at the refinery include:
- 85,000-BPD crude unit
- 32,000-BPD diesel hydrotreater
- 32,000-BPD fluid catalytic cracking hydrotreater
- 26,000-BPD fluid catalytic cracker
- 26,000-BPD naphtha hydrotreater
- 4,000-BPD polymer modified asphalt plant
- 26 million standard cubic foot per day hydrogen plant
Location/Access Located 90 miles from Oklahoma City, the Ardmore refinery is positioned to take advantage of the company's 1,500-mile crude oil pipeline system. The plant is also capable of receiving crude oil from third-party pipelines and trucking operations. Refined products are transported via pipelines, rail cars and trucks.
