• Was accepted into the Occupational Safety and Health Association's (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) as a Star Site, which recognizes it as one of the safest refineries in the nation
• Clean fuels projects will allow the Three Rivers refinery to produce low-sulfur gasoline two years ahead of federal regulations and the stringent California Air Resources Board (CARB) diesel
• Total throughput capacity of approximately 100,000 barrels per day (BPD)
• Products include gasolines, diesel, fuel oil, propane and jet fuel
• Employs approximately 280 individuals
• Located on about 400 acres
• Commissioned in 1974, the refinery has had many upgrades and expansion since then

Overview
Closely tied to our Corpus Christi refinery, Valero’s Three Rivers refinery is a vital link in our operations in the Southwest. Refined products made here are distributed through approximately 3,480 miles of refined product pipelines connected to 13 terminals throughout Texas.

Output
Between 1998 and 2001, we executed a number of expansion projects at our Three Rivers refinery that were designed to optimize production. Key units at the refinery include:

• 95,000-BPD crude unit
• 24,000-BPD fluid catalytic cracking unit
• 30,000-BPD hydrocracker
• 19,000-BPD benzene/toluene/xylene/raffinate fractionation unit
• 20,000-BPD heavy gas oil hydrotreater
• 23,000-BPD continuous catalyst regeneration reformer
• 6,000-BPD alkylation unit
• 11,000-BPD naphtha reformer
• 10,000-BPD ROSE unit
• 20,000-BPD distillate hydrotreater and aromatic saturation unit
• 10,000-BPD distillate hydrotreater
• 3,000-BPD process oils unit
