Valero Brand Requirements 

Sites must meet certain minimum requirements and economic criteria to qualify for the Valero brand image conversion paid by the company (excluding the distributor-paid market of Southern California). Valero offers two brand options – Shamrock and Beacon – for sites that do not meet Valero brand requirements but still enjoy basic benefits of a branded program.

Minimum Requirements
Canopy
  • Valero Brand: Modern / well-lit canopy structure
  • Shamrock, Beacon Brands: Required, but may be attached or freestanding
  • No fluorescent lighting
  • Canopy pan required
  • Smooth, flat, horizontal fascia (30 inches minimum)

Exterior Surface

  • Concrete pad under canopy
  • Asphalt or concrete in all parking areas, drives, ingress / egress, etc.


Gasoline Dispensers

Valero Brand:
  • Minimum of two MPDs with CRINDS (excluding urban areas on the West Coast which require minimum of three MPDs with CRINDS)
  • Must be modern, fully operational and in good condition

Shamrock, Beacon Brands: Minimum of two MPDs or electronic dispensers

Diesel Dispensers
 
Valero Brand: Stand-alone diesel dispenser (single-product) under gasoline canopy acceptable
Shamrock, Beacon Brands: Stand-alone branded diesel dispenser (single-product) under gasoline canopy acceptable
 
Convenience Store
 
Valero Brand:
Exterior
  • Modern c-store with exterior appearance complementary to the overall brand image
  • Good outside lighting


Interior

  • Clean, modern, visually appealing and well-stocked, and that complements the overall brand image
  • Good inside lighting
  • Clean / modern public restrooms

Shamrock, Beacon Brands:
Exterior

  • Must be complementary to the overall brand image
  • Good outside lighting

Interior

  • Clean, visually appealing and well-stocked, and that complements the overall brand image
  • Good inside lighting
  • Clean public restrooms

Volume Requirements
Minimum gasoline volume varies by market

Broadband Communication Solution
Valero Brand: Must install, use and maintain Valero-approved broadband communication solution upon branding
