In 2009, the ride got a new name and a new destination. The Bike MS: Valero 2011 Alamo Ride to the River presented by H-E-B, which begins in San Antonio and winds past historic Texas landmarks including the Alamo and through Fort Sam Houston. This picturesque ride has the participants overnighting in New Braunfels, Texas, before their return trip to San Antonio.
