Volunteering in Communities: It's What Valero Does

Valero employees donated nearly 140,000 hours of time last year to volunteer for countless community projects, including mentoring students, organizing fundraisers, participating in cleanup events, volunteering at youth centers and much more.

Velo Valero: Pedal Power Raises Funds for Charities

Velo Valero, the company’s official cycling team, has raised millions of dollars for the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society’s Lone Star Chapter and the American Diabetes Association.

Valero earned Corporate Star status in 2008 through its commitment to the National MS Society. The company was recognized for its outstanding commitment to helping people with MS move their lives forward and to raising awareness of the disease and the National MS Society.

Military Support

Valero supports thousands of troops overseas through Operation Call Home – a grassroots effort to supply soldiers with pre-paid calling cards and keep families and their deployed loved ones connected.

Hundreds of volunteers help to create a family atmosphere for more than 300 soldiers, as they invite them to share Thanksgiving at corporate offices in San Antonio.
Valero earned a national Above & Beyond Award from the Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, for supporting deployed co-workers during war.

Valero Across the Country

Through a fundraising effort in Valero’s U.S. retail stores, the company’s employees raise millions of dollars for Children's Miracle Network hospitals located in communities where Valero has operations.

Additionally, Valero’s retail employees raise millions of dollars for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
