The Valero Alamo Bowl showcases two of the premier conferences in the country, the Big 12 and the Pac-12. The bowl quickly has become one of the most popular bowls in the country, producing some of the most-watched bowl games in ESPN history while selling out four of the last six years.

Valero Supports College Football at its Best

The Valero Alamo Bowl has hosted 21 bowl games and 9 neutral site games at the Alamodome in San Antonio. These 30 games have attracted over 169 million spectators with more than 50 percent being out-of-town visitors.  This has generated a direct economic impact in excess of $509 million, contributing more than $85 million to higher education through team payouts and local scholarships.

2013 Highlights
  • Oregon's 30-7 win in the 2013 Valero Alamo Bowl spoiled Mack Brown's last game in a 16 year run as Head Coach of the Texas Longhorns
  • Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota broke the Valero Alamo Bowl record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 133 yards.
  • The standing room only crowd of 65,918 was the second highest attendance in Valero Alamo Bowl history and the game's third straight sellout.
  • With 7.6 million viewers, the 2013 game was ESPN's 7th most-watched non-BCS bowl game of all-time.
