Valero Energy Corporation Announces Public Offering of Senior Notes

Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE: VLO) announced today its intention, subject to market and other conditions, to commence a public offering of senior notes. The offering will be made pursuant to the company’s shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) on March 12, 2009. Valero intends to use the net proceeds from this offering for general corporate purposes, including the refinancing of debt. Banc of America Securities LLC, Barclays Capital Inc., Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC and J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. are the joint book-runners for the senior notes offering.
