Q:  Where can I use my credit card?

A:  Your card is accepted at any branded Valero, Diamond Shamrock, Beacon, and Shamrock location.  You can locate one of our branded locations by using our online store locator or by contacting customer service at 1-800-333-3560.

Q:  Why do you ask if I am a U.S. Citizen and for my driver’s license number, mailing address, date of birth and social security number when I apply for a credit card?

A:  To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account with us. 

Q:  Do you offer joint credit card accounts?

A:  We only issue individual accounts; however, you may list authorized users on your account.  The credit card will bear the name of the authorized user, if requested.

Q:  Do I have to activate my Valero credit card?

A:  All new accounts must be activated.  You may activate your card by calling 1-888-264-4320. 

Q:  Do I have a credit limit?

A:  Yes.  Your GasCap® credit limit and available credit will be shown on your monthly billing statement.  If you feel that the credit limit indicated on your statement is insufficient for your needs, please contact one of our customer service representatives at 1-800-333-3560.

Q:  Do you have revolving credit terms?

A:  Yes. 

Q:  Can I use my card to obtain cash?

A:  The credit card is designed to be used for purchasing fuel and/or merchandise.

Q:  Do I need a personal identification number (PIN) to make charges to my account?

A:  No, we do not require PIN entry to activate your credit card.

Q:  Where do I mail payment for my consumer account?

Q:  When is payment on my account due?

A:  Minimum payment is to be paid by the due date specified on your monthly billing statement.

Q:  What is the annual percentage rate (APR) for my Valero credit card account?

A:  The Annual Percentage Rate is based on a variable rate using the Prime Rate as published in the Money Section of the Wall Street Journal.  This means that if you pay your account in full each month, there will be NO Finance Charge assessed; however, if you do revolve your balance and pay the Minimum Payment by the Payment Due Date, your Annual Percentage Rate at today’s current Prime Rate would only be 17.99%.

Q:  Who do I contact if I need to replace my worn Valero, Diamond Shamrock or Preferred Gold credit card?

A:  You can request replacement or additional consumer credit cards 24 hours a day, 7 days a week utilizing our automated customer service telephone system, toll free at 1-800-333-3560.  Please have your credit card account number and card number available.  We also offer personalized care from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., CST, Monday through Friday at the same toll free number!
