As the nation’s second largest asphalt producer, Valero’s materials have been used to provide roofing materials, pave many roads, biking and hiking paths. Our asphalt was even used to pave the world’s largest port in Los Angeles, California, and the Irwindale Speedway – home to many race-car events.

We produce approximately 60,000 barrels per day of asphalt and market asphalt in 20 states through 15 terminal facilities. Valero is also the nation’s largest petroleum coke producer, supplying primarily power-generation customers and cement manufacturers.

And, we are one of the nation’s largest producers of sulfur, providing materials primarily to agricultural customers. 

Plus, Valero’s refineries provide raw materials that are made into plastics used to help build computers, disks and other electronic and medical devices, as well as household items including, plastic foam and plastic wrap.
