Overview

The Linden plant, located on 80 acres about 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis, produces ethanol, distillers grains livestock feed and fuel- and feed-grade corn oil. With original startup in August 2007, the plant was acquired by Valero in January 2010.  

The plant buys corn from local farmers within a 50- to 75-mile radius, through Cargill.

Volunteer Hours

Employees and families annually log approximately 1,000 volunteer hours, for events and charities including National Night Out, Mobile Food Pantry, Chili Cook-off for Food Finders and Lafayette Transitional Housing Center.

Benefiting Children

In 2019, distributed $35,000 from the Valero Texas Open and Benefit for Children to local charities nominated by employees, including Boys & Girls Club of Montgomery County, Food Finders Food Bank Inc., Heartford House Inc., Helping Challenged Children Inc., Montgomery County Youth Services Bureau and Special Olympics Indiana.

United Way Giving

Employee pledges, additional donations and a company match totaled approximately $40,000 in donations to the local United Way for 2019 – No. 18 out of 100 company donors in a metropolitan area.

Safety Awards & Honors

Multiple quarterly Valero STAR Metric awards for achieving no incidents in five key areas of process safety, reliability, environmental, rail safety, and policy and procedure compliance.
