Valero partners with local public school districts and foundations, charter schools, colleges, universities and trade schools across the nation to help provide students with access to the tools and support systems needed to pursue their dreams.
One of these partnerships is the Back to School Bash hosted by the Valero Houston Refinery. Since 2016 more than 1,500 backpacks have been distributed to students in the neighboring Manchester community. At this year’s bash, nearly 300 backpacks filled with school supplies were handed out to students in grades pre-K to high school.
Local nonprofits such as L.I.F.E Houston, Community Family Centers, Kids Meals, Manchester Civic Club, Target Hunger and the Houston Police Foundation were also invited to promote their services to community members.
