Tom Lee Park is a place for everyone, and with the help of the Valero Memphis Refinery and its employees, it continues to be a community gem.
Memphis employees have helped with a variety of volunteer events at the park. Recently, volunteers collected trash along the riverbank and joined students from the Creative Life Preparatory School and Knowledge Quest program for a field day at the park.
In 2021, the 30-acre park received a $1 million donation from Valero. In addition to the donation, Valero volunteers helped plant over 1,000 trees at the park. Andrew Kiepe, Director of Development, Memphis River Parks Partnership, appreciates having strong supporters such as Valero who not only provide financial support, but also sweat equity.
