Students from the College of the Mainland in Texas City are getting a unique learning experience to better prepare them for careers in refining.

Made possible in part by a $187,000 contribution by Valero, a new glass distillation unit offers hands-on training to more than 600 process technology (PTECH) students who learn, practice, and gain experience on equipment similar to machinery found in the refinery.

Cory Moss, Vice President & General Manager, Valero Texas City Refinery, believes Valero’s investment can help graduates find careers with Valero or other industries in the Texas City and greater Houston areas.
